CASERTA ROYAL PALACE
The Lombards probably founded Caserta in the 8th century: they chose the peak of Monte Tifata, where there was a Roman emplacement. From the 12th century on, the town enlarged and reached the plains. What gave importance and fame to Caserta was the construction of Bourbons’ Royal Palace. This Royal Palace, known as “Reggia di Caserta” owes its fame to the fact it’s a copy of the Versailles’ one.It was an idea of Charles III of Bourbon.A walk in the elegant gardens is a must.
