When we arrive at a traditional oil mill in Sorrento, an expert guide will show you round the ancient olive groves where you will be able to soak in the land, listening to the history and stories that have worked these trees for generations. After our short walk you will be able to get an up close view of one of the actual machines that used to be used to produce the oil, then move onto the modern part of the mill and see the modern process. At the end of this tour you will be able to sample some of the amazing products, from a classic extra virgin oil – to those infused with citrus fruits and spices. Deciding on your favourite will not be an easy task. Then we are off to our next stop.
This stop dedicates itself to the wines produced in this area – which have helped to make Italian wine one of the most sought after and well known in the world. Visit the cantina with an expert who will introduce each wine as you sample it. Normally included in the tastings are the most renowned wines of this area such as Anglianico, Greco di Tufo, Falanghina, & Piedirosso. After the winery we will move on the next stop – the farm!
On arrival we will be served a refreshing glass of lemon infused water, then onto a walk around the farm to see the different crops. Then you can get hands on with a mozzarella making demonstration, the famous cheese that is a staple on Italian menus – used on its own as a delicious starter, made into salads, or of course as a principal ingredient on the world famous Pizza.
And talking of pizza… A true gastronomic tour wouldn’t be complete without a taste of a proper Neapolitan pizza. And to make it even better you will be helping to make this authentic pizza with your own two hands, so you can then recreate this when you get back home. You will be taught how to make the best dough – with a few secret tips thrown in. Then you’ll learn how to add on the toppings before your masterpiece is cooked in a traditional wood burning oven. Un unforgettable experience.
After lunch we will head in town, to an Ice cream shop that produces its own mouth-watering gelato – loved by all big and small around the world. At the end of the visit you can pick your own personal favourite to try. Our tour does not finish here though – the last stop is dedicated to our famous liqueur – Limoncello.
Limoncello is the liqueur that is made from our local Sorrento Lemons – and then exported all over the world. This is a stop that we could not miss. After learning all the secrets of the making of Limoncello you can try a nice cool glass before we head back to your accommodation.
