Depending when you visit – you might find the mill working and you can even get hands on with making the oil. Then you will head to the tasting area, where you will get to try 15 different oils and DOP products, ranging from the famous lemon oil IGP of Sorrento to oils infused with truffle and cinnamon. Decide which is your favourite – not an easy choice. After the mill we will move on to Sorrentine Cantina to discover the wines of Campania region.
An interesting stop on our gastronomic tour without a doubt is the Cantina. Here together with the owner you will discover what goes into making Campania’s famous wine. Try the areas most important wines and we will let you in on the secrets of tasting and smelling the aromas emanating from your glass. Having tasted such favourites as “Aglianico” we will recommence our tour in search of the best flavours this area has to offer.
After another short journey, where you can take in the scenery, we will arrive at an authentic Sorrentine farm, where the owners will greet us a welcome drink. We will take a wander around their crops and pop past some of their livestock to see what they grow here – and then a display of the traditional process, passed from father to son, of making mozzarella. You can even try the finished product, still warm, a unique experience.
After another short drive, it is time to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty with flour, yeast and water. Guided by an expert you will get to make your first ever Neapolitan Pizza – a memory that will stay with you forever. When your pizza is ready, we can eat together and you will get to taste some of the other delicacies from the farm.
We will say goodbye to our new friends and head towards to town centre to learn how to make real Italian Ice cream. Just a few good ingredients and years of experience one of the best loved products known to man. Then choose which flavour you prefer and enjoy!
The last stop on our gastronomic tour, before heading back to the port in time to get back on board, is the limoncello factory. A member of staff will guide you through the production process of the most famous and loved liqueur of this area. Before leaving you will get to sample our “liquid gold” and you will get the chance to buy a bottle to take home if you like. The tour last approx. 8 hours and terminates back at the port.
